Visit a tea plantation and a factory in the cold mountains, observe the procedure that transforms the raw green leaf in to brown tea, and participate in a tea tasting – these are just few things you could happily experience in Nuwara-Eliya Tea Plantation Tour.
Day 01 Airport/ Negombo (Approx: 15min)
“Aubowan” On arrival at Colombo International Airport you will be met by our .Ranfer Travels Representative and transferred to your hotel in Negambo.Check in at your hotel – relax and unwind after your journey.

Dinner and over night at Negambo
(Day 02) Colombo (Approx: 45min)
After breakfast, Check out of your hotel and travel to Colombo. For those who are in the global tea industry, we will organize a visit to the iconic Colombo Tea Auctions. It is a meeting place where over 300 million kilos of tea is traded per year. Conducted over 2 days of the week it is also regarded as the fasted commodity auction in the world, where the hammer drops three times per minute of average. It is the very heart of Sri Lanka’s tea trade and steeped with historical references.
Thereafter we will visit The Ranfer tasting room , where our experienced tea traders will take you through the extensive world of tea grading, tasting and sorting. The range and varieties is endless and the art and science is learnt over years of training. But we trust you will grasp the basic concept by the end of your crash course into tea tasting. En route we will visit the Ranfer Tea shop to learn and identify the many different tea grades that are packed and distribute.
After a snack lunch at Ranfer depart to Kandy (approx:2.5 hrs)

(Day 03) Kandy/ Nuwara Eliya (Approx: 2 Hrs)
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning visit the temple of the Tooth Relic. The stunning 17th century Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) is believed to house the left upper canine tooth of the Lord Buddha himself. This
precious relic attracts white-clad pilgrims, bearing lotus blossoms and frangipanis.
Proceed to Peradeniya Railway station, and board the scenic train to Nuwara Eliya.Enjoy the picturesque journey from your observation carriage,this train runs through arguably the most breath-taking sights while it snaking its way through the mountains and through the heart of the tea country, wandering through the trails of British colonial era with buildings ranging from Georgian to Queen Anne, Golf course with 18 holes, the famous huntersclub – The Hill Club of the English Tea Planters.
Dinner and overnight in Nuwara Eliya
(Day 04) Nuwara Eliya / Horton Planes(Approx:3 Hrs)/ Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast do an excursion to the Pedro Tea Factory
Established around 1880, this is arguably one of the oldest tea estates and factories. Its gallery displays some of the very first steel tea rolling machines. The entire process of the tea making process is demonstrated and the factory enjoys spectacular views of their carpeted tea estate.
In the afternoon, if time permits visit Horton Plains (Optional)

(Day 05) Nuwara Eliya / Colombo Via Pinnawala (Approx: 4 Hrs 30 Min)
After breakfast transfer to Colombo Via Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage
The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage was established by the Sri Lankan Department of Wildlife Conservation in 1975 for feeding and providing care and sanctuary to orphaned baby elephants that were found in the wild. Pinnawala has the largest herd of captive elephants in the world.
Dinner and overnight stay in Colombo
(Day 06) Colombo / Airport (Approx: 1 Hrs 15 Min)
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel. Depending on your flight departure time, enjoy a city tour in Colombo. We will visit the Gangarama Temple located in the middle of the lake – Known for its famous Bawa Style architecture, the Capital of Sri Lanka –Jayewardenepura Kotte, the Parliament; Visit the Nelum Pokuna – the Art Theatre in the shape of a Lotus Flower, The old Race Course now converted into a stadium which has many restaurants and shops. Visit The Old Dutch Hospital (built by The Dutch) now a renowned shopping and eating-place and enjoy a lovely lunch there.
