14 days tour of Sri Lanka
Two weeks gives you time for a ‘classic’ tour of Sri Lanka. You might start in Anuradhapura and spend a few days covering the ancient cities, perhaps with a side trip to the east coast for the beaches north of Trincomalee and even heading north to Jaffna, then looping south to Kandy via Dambulla or Mahiyangana.
From Kandy tour the Central Highlands, perhaps climbing Adam’s Peak and continue east to Ella or Haputale and then south to the national parks at Yala or Uda Walawe for wildlife spotting. You could finish by flopping on a south coast beach for a couple of days, or return to Colombo via Sinharaja Reserve and Ratnapura (gem city).
Despite being a small island nation, many travelers make the mistake of thinking Sri Lanka can be discovered and toured in less than a week. It takes a minimum of 2 weeks to fully discover and explore the island. Sri Lanka, unlike any other, has many places to see, things to do and experience.
