Trincomalee (Trinco)

Trincomalee

Tricomalee, often called Trinco for short, is the harbor port of the East Coast of Sri Lanka. The Trico Port is not just the World’s third largest natural port but is also one of the World most scenic ones. This coastal city was once a major tourist haunts but over the last few decades has had front row seats to the recently concluded civil unrest. Trico is slowly recovering and gearing towards its previously enjoyed status of being a popular tourist destination.

Enjoy your Sri Lanka Holiday with an early morning sun rise over the crystal clear waters of the Indian Ocean and experience the breath-taking charms of the Pigeon Island accessed by a 45minute boat ride. Pigeon Island is a magical little island bathed with coral and is arguably the best place for a picnic, snorkeling and scuba diving. The Marine life is thieving and snorkelers can marvel of the colorful ray of fish, coral and other marine life.

If driving through this pictureous Harbor city is not enough, visitors to Trico can enjoy a local experience as the rejuvenating Hot Water Springs, famous ancient Koneswaram temple, or make a visit to Trico Fort which is the largest Dutch Forts in Srilanka.
