Ayurvedic Resorts

You're never far away from an Ayurveda treatment centre in Sri Lanka, and it should be easy to find one that caters to your level of need, whether you're looking for a beauty and relaxation treatment or a longer-term solution to a genuine medical problem. There are centres scattered throughout the island.

  • Resort Spas – The hotel hideaways are the most popular options for those looking for a truly distressing holiday. Visitors can opt to stay in one of the boutique resorts which specialise in Ayurveda packages, such as the Ayurveda Pavillions in Negambo or the Heritance Maha Gedara in Beruwala. These usually focus on the softer, more cosmetic options. There are many other 3 star to 5 star hotels that offer Ayurvedic centres for guests to use while enjoying a relaxing holiday stay.

  • Ayurvedic Retreats – Many Ayurveda centres in Sri Lanka offer luxury hotel accomodation while specialize in treatment programs and remedies. These range from the colonial villa based Ayurveda Walauwa in Bentota to the Wedamedura Centre in kandy and beach resorts such as Barberyn Beach (Weligama), Barbery Reef (Beruwala) and Aida Ayurveda Spa (Bentota).

  • Medical Centres – There are some Ayurveda centres which take a very serious view of their treatment and a stay with them is more akin to a hospital visit, albeit a very pleasant hospital. These include the Mount Clinic of Orient Medicine in Mount Lavinia and the Siddhalepa Health Resort in Wadduwa.
